B.       Notes from Survivors First Board meeting via conference call November 20, 2003.

a.       Reviewed accomplishment for 2003 and goals for 2004

b.       Decided to keep $2000 of the balance in the Survivors Appeal for emergency funding requests

c.        Decided to consider merits of investing the remaining $4,150 toward a weekend meeting involving the leaders of all the major survivor activist groups.  This money would be used toward travel expenses.   The Board consider the merits of this idea in December and either have the weekend meeting or distribute the cash directly to the groups.

C.      SF Accomplishments Year 1 (year end Sep 30th)

a.       Launched and Maintained Priest Database

                                                               i.      Name growth:  500 in Oct 2002;  1000 in Jan 2003;  1856 Nov 2003

                                                              ii.      Established as credible and leading source of data with Media

                                                            iii.      Presented updated statistics at last 3 US Bishops meeting in person

                                                             iv.      Released professional Jun 18 report with diocesan comparison with NY Times Jan 12 study.

                                                              v.      Private Database has 600+ names

                                                             vi.      On average 3,000 individuals (unique computer addresses) visit the site each month, or about 36,000 for the first 12 months.


b.       Organized 8+ Group Coordination Meetings in Boston

                                                               i.      Held 8+ meetings to help coordinate activities among groups

                                                              ii.      Conducted 2 Saturday workshops with VOTF groups (NH and CT)

                                                            iii.      Held "Lessons from Plaintiffs who Settled" panel discussion

                                                             iv.      Held Parents Support Meeting in Dec 2002, with Mr. and Mrs. Serrano

 

c.        Held "Leaders" conference call

                                                               i.      first call gained agreement on 3 National Survivor Movement goals and geographic focus

1.       release of all secret priest files

2.       repeal statute of criminal and civil limitations in all 50 states

3.       bishop accountability

4.       geographic focus on LA and NY


d.       Started Survivors Appeal and Raised $14, 915 in first year

                                                               i.      $14, 915 donations received

1.       one person contributing $25/week

2.       Contributions from 3 VOTF groups (West Chelmsford strongest)

                                                              ii.      $8,765 distributed to date (see detail in income statement for Survivors Appeal)

                                                            iii.      $6,150 to distribute with guidance at this board meeting

g.       Launched Bishop-Accountability.org

                                                               i.      Terry McKiernan project lead, with Anne Barrett Doyle and Paul Kendrick

                                                              ii.      Already most comprehensive site on internet;  10,000+ documents;  numerous documents are found solely at this site


D.      Goals 2004


a.       Priest Database:

                                                               i.      Maintain database  


b.       Get highly leveraged nationally, rather than in Boston:

                                                               i.      Match effort to realities of volunteers

                                                              ii.      Focus on tighter coordination of Leaders

                                                            iii.      Possible 2 day Leaders offsite in Boston


c.        Expand BA.org considerable.  Continue to grow subscribers to The Monitor

                                                               i.      Fundraising effort to raise $30,000

                                                              ii.      Build national email list of 8,000 Catholics by January

                                                            iii.      Invest in website usability (search, smaller files); use India for scanning and file sizing

                                                             iv.      Aim to post 200,000 documents related to crisis
